Experimental Observation of Higher-Order Topological Anderson Insulators

Recently, a new family of symmetry-protected higher-order topological insulators has been proposed and was shown to host lower-dimensional boundary states. However, with the existence strong disorder in bulk, crystal symmetry is broken, associated corner states are disappeared. It well known that emergence robust edge quantized transport can be induced by adding sufficient disorders into topologically trivial insulator, so-called Anderson insulator. The question whether also cause phase. This not so far, because interactions between phases completely different from those first-order system. Here, we demonstrate theoretically disorderinduced state fraction charge appear modified Haldane model. In experiments, construct classical analog such higherorder using electric circuits observe disorder-induced through voltage measurement. Our work defies conventional view detrimental phase, offers feasible platform investigate interaction phases.
